I am beyond excited to bring y’all inside another Beautiful Indiana Home! This time I’m taking you inside a home from my hometown, Muncie.
If you have driven down Nebo Road in the past couple of years, you have more than likely noticed this gorgeous home sitting back in the woods on a private pond.
If you’ve ever wanted to take a peek inside, now’s your chance. Come with me and step inside for a tour of this amazing custom built home.
Take your shoes off, enjoy some Christmas tunes and I think I smell the coffee pot brewing.
What made you move?
“We found the property and really loved it. We also wanted to build again and liked the idea of living on land with some room around us.” MaNell
First things first, when you step inside you will more than likely be greeted by the families official representative, Marvin.
Here’s what the homeowner MaNell has to say about Marvin.
“Marvin is a brilliant 3 year old coton de tulear. He’s an extremely social dog that loves to cuddle up with us and loves to meet new people!!”
After greeting Marvin, and stepping inside this beautiful home that was built in 2015 by the current owners, Steve and MaNell Hembree. You will feel as if you stepped into the pages of a top selling design magazine, or onto the set of an HGTV show.
Plus, we get the added bonus of seeing it all decked out for the holidays!
When I asked MaNell the following question, here is what she had to say about her favorite day.
Describe what it’s like in your home on your favorite day?
“Our favorite day would have to be Christmas Day. Beautiful music, great food and time spent giving and sharing. Oh, and at some point everyone gets a nap!!!” MaNell
I like how you think MaNell!
After walking in the front door, your eyes will immediately turn left to focus on the stunning dinning room. You will start dreaming of your invite to the amazing gatherings that must take place there!
What’s your favorite thing about your home?
“I purposely set out to make my home feel very spa like. I love that when we come home it feels like we’ve landed somewhere soothing. It’s easy on the senses.” MaNell
I know, I know your thinking, WOW! I know your thinking this must have taken a team of fancy and expensive designers. Nope.
Every item and design decision made in this beautiful home was done by the Uber talented Homeowner herself! Not only is she a full time RN, Wife and Mother to a super sweet 13 year old daughter. MaNell is also an amazing Designer.
Tell me about what you and your husband do for your day jobs?
“I am a registered Nurse working in Labor and Delivery. I am also an esthetician and makeup artist. My husband owns a car dealership in Elwood, IN.” MaNell
Tell me about what you both do on the side?
“Steve loves to golf and loves sporting events and concerts. I love anything design/decor related and I also love movies and a good book.” MaNell
MaNell has offered her design services for both new construction and renovation projects. If you would like MaNell’s contact information please send me an email and I will get you in touch.
Next stop on the tour, we head on over to the super cozy living room area. The gorgeous two-sided fireplace glow can be enjoyed from both the dinning and living rooms.
The living room really is cozy, and it opens up into the gourmet kitchen making it the perfect spot for holiday parties or hosting football night, which I know this family loves!
I love how the paint colors that MaNell has chosen change with the light in the room. There are so many beautiful large windows that let in tons of light, and give you a picture perfect view of the back patio and pond.
What were your must have’s in a new home?
“Smart design with plenty of storage and interesting design features. Also, it needs to have a good esthetic vibe.” MaNell
We step back inside from the huge back patio into the eat in kitchen area. Notice all the gorgeous built-ins and attention to detail. I wish you could see the sparkles in the countertops but they didn’t translate on photos very well. There is a touch of bling in every room. Sparkly, just like MaNell and her daughter Emme!
How would you describe your decorating style?
“I like a clean, modern esthetic but with softness and loads of texture. I really love the juxtaposition of things in general, but more specifically I enjoy things that are shiny against things that are rustic.” MaNell
Next we turn from the kitchen and pass a huge pantry, half bath and stairs to a huge bonus space above the 3 car garage. We will save that for another trip and head in to every 13 year old girls dream room and bath.
And yes, my buddy Marvin has been checking me out while I photograph his beautiful home.
Now we will head to the other side of the home to a true Master Suite, or should I say SWEET!
Come on, wait till you see it! Includes private entrance out to the hot tub, super inviting King size bed, walk in shower, soaking tub, huge walk in closet, double vanities, private office space and laundry.
They seriously thought of everything with this floor plan. Not a detail was missed.
We are stepping into a true spa experience now. I think you will feel relaxed just looking at these photos.
Even though this home is truly glamorous and sophisticated, after spending five minutes inside and talking to MaNell and her family, you realize just how cozy and relaxed this home truly is.
Seriously, I was so relaxed I almost slipped in the tub for a lil soak. I really don’t think she would have mind.
As we make our last stop on this tour of another Beautiful Indiana Home, I asked MaNell what people should know about the family that lives here.
What should people know about the family that lives in this home? What’s the most important things in your life?
“Our family loves Jesus and we love each other. We love to play games, cards and we love to laugh.” MaNell Hembree
Those are all amazing things to me as well. Faith, Family and lots of laughter!
Thank you for stopping by and visiting with me and the Hembree family. Stay tuned for many more Beautiful Indiana Homes to be featured.
